Montreal’s neighbor to the north, and serving as a major suburb, Laval occupies all of Île Jésus as well as the Laval Islands. Not as ethnically diverse as neighboring Montreal, Laval has become a destination for arriving Immigrants, with its abundant work opportunities and proximity to amenities. Montreal’s metro system extends into Laval, offering an easy access point to and from Laval’s numerous shopping malls, warehouses and various retail stores.
