QUEBEC CITY

Welcome to the Quebec City Section.

The beautiful city of Quebec lies about 233 kilometers (145 mi) north east of Montreal. Quebec City is internationally known for its Summer Festival, Winter Carnival, and the Château Frontenac, a hotel which dominates the city skyline. Quebec’s Old City, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985 as the 'Historic District of Old Québec' is one of the oldest cities in North America. The ramparts surrounding Old Quebec (Vieux-Québec) are the only remaining fortified city walls in the Americas north of Mexico. The street cafes, terraces, French style bistros, and old French architecture are reminiscent of Montreal’s own Old port. Easily accessible from Montreal as a day trip, Quebec City warrants itself as a destination on its own, offering full amenities to day time and overnight visitors alike.
