100 years old and still going strong
The Montréal Canadiens Hockey Team, which just celebrated its centenial, have recently been putting their many fans through the wringer. At press time, the 2010-2011 season had not yet started, but the last few months have already brought their share of surprises ... beginning with the trade of star goaltender Jaroslav Halak, who enabled the team to make it to the semi-finals of the playoffs last spring, for the first time in years. Now all eyes will be on the broad shoulders of young goalie Carey Price. In another departure, it was announced that Pierre Boivin will step down as president of the Club next June. In short, the team has seen some turbulent times, with all these changes, new faces and even a new captain (not yet known in August). It is virtually impossible to make predictions for this season. So, Habs fans are holding their breath… in hopes of one day regaining the Stanley Cup. The Montréal Canadiens play other NHL teams at the Bell Centre on October 13, 16, 21, 25, 27 and 30; November 6, 9, 13, 16, 18, 20, 24 and 27; December 1, 4, 7, 15 and 16; January 2, 6, 8, 12, 15, 17 and 22; and February 2, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 24 and 26.
